Still Life: Movement + Writing Immersion
w/ Allegra Preuss
Friday, September 25 – Sunday, September 27, 2026
2-night all-inclusive stay
This Autumn experience is intended for anyone who is ready to source creativity by way of slowing down. Through movement, breath, and art we will practice attuning to the rhythm of nature, and take cues from the shifting season to inspire the whole being to make from a place of relaxation, delight, and fullness.
We invite the trained artist and novice alike. Like a Montessori classroom, our gifts and shortcomings will feed one another like protons and neutrons, yin and yang. The beginners will get a chance to feel virtuosic and the experts will get a chance to see everything as if for the first time.
Allegra will guide daily restorative yoga, something similar to ecstatic dance but not, and creative writing. It is accessible for everyone.
It is meant to feed the inner artist no matter what food they’re in the mood for.
The farm is a luscious, rare place where every corner is full of care. Allow yourself to receive. Bask in therapeutic yoga, shake off the old and get out of your own way through authentic dance and movement exploration, and share and expand your discoveries through guided writing and new friendships.
There will be equal amounts of times of held space, guided containers, and curated togetherness as there will be time to roam alone, let serendipity guide encounters with the land and others, and to sleep, eat, and be merry.
The autumn season allows us to exhale, to let go, and reflect in order to replenish and reinvigorate from a deliciously easy place. Do you need to grieve? Rest? Mental quiet? Body TLC? A creative jolt of life and energy? This weekend is for you.
In the yoga studio at Bloom the previous owner engraved the sink and it reads: “Artists need a lot of sleep.”
This immersion is partly inspired by this. An invitation to dream in a world where so much is external, comparative, instant gratification, and fast—this time is for us to remember our true, simple, beautiful nature.
Also the goats are so cute.
When was the last time you nourished yourself directly from the land? Sometimes we think we need to overhaul our life but we just need 24 hours without a phone, sunshine, movement, laughter, tea, yumminess, and living waters. This is remineralizing.
This weekend is less about acquiring and more about shedding layers and quieting noise, in order to reconnect with your essence and the sources and channels that naturally make you feel inspired and alive.

Allegra Preuss
Allegra trained professionally in dance and journalism in New York City before she burned out and moved to her home town, Miami. Miami didn’t necessarily help with the feeling of going crazy, but it is called Magic City. Her homeland taught her that you have to make what you want to experience, and that when you want something and give consistent love to it, it will flourish. In Miami she teaches popular yoga classes where she channels a moving meditation that is a funky mix of Katonah yoga, deep yin postures, gooey dance movement, tender nudges for the mind to let go of its bullsh*t and reclaim its radiance, and goooood music. She is also a freelance writer and artist, birth worker, and dancer.
She led a 24-hour retreat at Bloom for the locals about two years ago where they did yoga Nidra, painted, and wrote while the autumn leaves changed before their eyes. It was so magical that she knew she had to come back. Since then she got married and had a baby so her cutie family will be there and the bonus is you might get to squish her baby boy’s chunky feet.
It’s the most wonderful time of the year, join us here.

Most of the farmhouse dates back to the 1800s. The oldest part of the house, including our special wood-fired oven, dates back to 1760! Some additions were completed in 2007 and were constructed to blend seamlessly into the existing architecture. You may encounter some creaky floor boards during your stay – we consider this part of the charm of a historic farmhouse.
